Frequently Asked Questions
Print Details & Features
What is a fine art print on metal?
Original photographs by Raymond Bonavida are printed in limited editions on aluminum, taking advantage of both the rich color range and the unique reflective properties of this new fine art medium. A modern dye-sublimation printing process infuses the ink into the metal through a heat transfer process, producing gallery quality artwork with color, depth and high resolution detail that is simply stunning.
Prints are produced from 100% recycled premium grade aluminum and sourced and printed in the USA. Printed on tear-proof aluminum, these gallery quality prints feature some water resistance, scratch resistance and UV ray blocking. These protections, in addition to the benefits of dye-sublimation printing, allow for a long life expectancy that exceeds other print mediums.
What is a limited edition print?
Each limited edition is comprised of fine art prints that are offered in a specific size and finish. Each edition is limited to a pre-determined number of prints; once sold, this edition will be permanently closed and no more prints of that edition will be produced.
There are two numbers which will appear on the back of the print and on the Certificate of Authenticity: the unique number of the print and the size of the entire print run. For example, if you own a print marked 24/250, then you own the 24th print in a limited print run of 250 for that edition.
What is included with the print?
Each print is an original work of art, signed and numbered in limited editions by Raymond Bonavida and includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity. These prints require no frame and arrive wall-ready with a float mount pre-attached to the back which allows the print to float 3/4 inch off the wall for a contemporary look. The float mount is recommended for installation, but as an alternative there is also an included wire hanger that can be attached to the mount.
Does my print require framing?
No. These prints require no frame and arrive wall-ready with a float mount pre-attached to the back which allows the print to float 3/4 inch off the wall for a contemporary look. The float mount is recommended for installation, but as an alternative there is also an included wire hanger that can be attached to the mount.
What are the available print finishes?
Prints are available in either "silver" or "white" and "glossy" or "matte" finishes. For example, a print specified as "silver gloss" is both a silver print and a high gloss finish. Silver prints allow the reflective qualities of the aluminum to show through the image, becoming part of the image. White prints, in contrast, resemble traditional photography with an opaque white background. In summary, while both white prints and silver prints exhibit striking metallic qualities, there are differences in the ways they reflect light.
How should I consider lighting and placement?
Prints with a white finish require general lighting considerations for effective illumination. Prints with a silver finish have unique reflective properties that handle light differently and require specific considerations. The illumination changes as the observer moves position. From certain angles, silver prints appear muted or dim, while from other angles the silver glows in vivid color. Experiment with different light angles for varied experiences.
To determine the finish of your print, refer to the Certificate of Authenticity (enclosed). This print is intended for interior placement as it will start to fade in the sun after prolonged exposure.
How do I hang my Print?
This print requires no frame. It is wall-ready with a black wood float mount pre-attached to the back which allows the print to float 3/4 inch off the wall. To hang: install one or two weight-bearing screws or nails in the wall, making sure they are level. Place the mount over the screws and bring down slowly until secure and flush with the wall. Ensure that the fit holds well and is solid. It is very important to take safety precautions just as you would when hanging a heavy framed painting. The float mount is recommended for installation, but as an alternative there is also an included wire hanger that can be attached to the mount.

Handling & Care
How do I handle and care for my print?
While these prints are high quality and durable, proper handling is extremely important to avoid damage and minimize wear. Follow these recommendations for maximum longevity:
Handle gently; it is best to hold the print by the mount to avoid causing fingerprints and wear to the edges. Do not lean a print or have it stand on its edge, as this can lead to chipping.
It is suggested to use a soft, lint-free and non-scratching cloth to dust or clean your print. Apply a small amount of water or a mild window cleaner to the cloth if needed.
Prints should not stand upright or lean on a wall. Lay prints flat upon the mount so the print image is on top, facing up. Other positions can lead to warping or damage.
